Have you checked Laura Windley's blog post on the Jazz history of Durham? You have to go read it to see all the cool things she found, but here is one that caught our eye. "On January 13, 1942, “King of the Vibraphones Master of the Drums” Lionel Hampton performed at the Durham Armory. "
"Flying Home" was composed in 1938 so it is likely that Lionel Hampton PLAYED "Flying Home" in the venue for our main dances!!!
So in addition to meeting the living lindy hop legends who will be in attendance, you can dance in a venue steeped in Jazz history
